After winning every imaginable award, performing at every conceivable venue and having a top ten Billboard hit after too many weeks to count, it's without saying that Dottie Peoples has truly earned the titles, "Songbird of the South" and "The Gospel Patti LaBelle."
          Born in Dayton, Ohio, the eldest of ten children, Dottie was the only member of her large family with any type of musical interest.  She humorously recollects, "I can honestly say that we'll never have that Winans family thing going."
