Barbara Smith has succeeded in at
least five of the world's most demanding, competitive professions: model, singer, restaurant entrepreneur, television spokesperson and author.
She is the owner of B.
Smith's restaurant in New York's theater district. It is the culmination of her dream of a small bistro expanded into a 300-seat establishment. After eight years of success, she opened a second restaurant in
Washington, D.C.'s historic Union Station in 1994.
She puts on the tables not only the dishes her mother taught her to cook, but also her expanded tastes from traveling
worldwide for a decade of modeling and exploring the eclectic cuisine in bistros, trattorias, tavernas and cafes.
